Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the lessons in the 10 week programs like?
A. Each lesson is a demos where Dan paints brush stroke by brush stroke from start to finish. He will lecture about a concept or give tips and tie them in to the week’s painting and give ideas on what to do. Each lesson is online AND on DVD so you can watch/pause them as you go. Lessons and passwords will be emailed to you each week.
Q: How long are the demos?
A: They range from 1-2 hours each.
Q: Do I get DVDs with this course?

OR you can order by phone by calling 970-980-3123 and talking to one of the studio assistants at Edmondson Studio.
Q: I am very interested in your classes but I paint in acrylics. Would I be able to follow along as well or would you recommend something else?
A: Dan has had numerous acrylic artists do the course and have been very happy with the information. Most of the weekly tips (about 95%) are universal. The other 5% only requires working on a small area until they are complete and then it’s same as working with oils. Even some pastelists and a few watercolor artists have enjoyed the class.
You can try out the first lesson and if the course simply isn’t for you, return the DVDs for a full refund within the first 30 days.
Dan himself started out in acrylics. He made the switch to oils 10 years later.
Q: Do you provide a materials list or suggestions for what I need for the courses?
A: Yes! Dan offers a list of things he uses while he paints – supplies, paints, etc. But it is just a suggestion – you DO NOT need to go out and buy everything Dan uses. Most likely whatever you have will be fine for the courses.
Q: What if I want to work at my own pace?
A: You can work at your own pace as some artists are quicker and some take longer then the 10 weeks to finish so just have fun and paint on your time
Q: How do I send in my artwork for a critique?
A: Simply take a photograph of your painting and email it to Dan at dan@danieledmondson.com. Dan will then create a video critique of your painting.
Q: What if I am happy with my painting do I have to send it in for a critique?
A: Of course not! If you’re happy with your painting then Dan is happy. The critiques are just there to offer help and guidence.
Q: Is this course for beginners, intermediate, or advanced artists?
A: All of the above- The starter still life course is recommended to start with and the demos are created to give all artists, no matter what their background or talent is, first hand knowledge, easy to follow tips and techniques, and insight on painting these beautiful paintings. Dan has had complete beginners picking up a paint brush for the first time to gallery award winning artists take the course.
Q: do you sell gift certificates?
A: Yes! Click here: Gift Certificates
Q: What are the ethics in terms of doing these paintings based on your teaching. I want to do the right thing. Do I sign my name to them? Sell them?
A: When I send you the photos of the setup I am granting you license to use my photo to produce the painting – this means you are completely free to sign your name and take complete and sole credit for the painting.
Q: Do you have any other classes or courses besides the landscape and still life course?
